Canada’s pre-eminent artists, community groups and advocates join forces to showcase Canadian hip hop with special programming, interviews, artist spotlights, performances and much more.

THE HIP HOP SUMMIT presents an unprecedented and historic event– an exclusive gathering of the biggest names in Canadian hip hop performing on one stage including: k-os, Kardinal Offishall, SHAD, Saukrates, Classified, Maestro, Michie Mee, Red1 of The Rascalz, Choclair, Ghetto Concept, Reema Major, Cadence Weapon, Skratch Bastid and many more. 6. What about Rumble and Strong, Devon (Mr. Metro), Citizen Kane, Motion and other indie crews like Point Blank, WIO-K and Danny O, Motion, Infinite ( Juno winner), Tara Chase etc. What about all of the producers, graph artists, break crews and sound systems like Ebony Sound Crew and Sunshine. What about the music video producers. Hip Hop was a real movement not just the music. Instead of dictating to us what the history is, you should ask people who were really a part of it. Then they would learn that the history is more than 25 years... I wonder if any of the producers of this went to the jams at L'Amoureux, Jonathans and Masonic Temple. Do they even know who Tony Duncan is or why hip hop was so important to us back in the day??? Or is this just about the stale t.dot screwface politics?

  7. Begs me to ask the question, where has CBC been for the last 25 years ?
At least Much Music cared about, played and supported Hip Hop and where are the hip hop shows on CBC?
and you only got half of what was and some of what is!
partial representation,in music and on panels is only a half assed job.
Did you look, ask and search or did they decide who was not going to question them and ask the tough questions? CBC needs you more than you need them, how else can they reach your audience but through you?
Respect where respect is due,you got some for me I got plenty for you!

  8. I agree with therealgoldelox in a way that not everyone can be represented and also where was CBC these past 25 years for Canadian Hip Hop. This should have been a Rap City celebrates more then 25 years in Hip Hop. I guess when it comes to these types of shows and events there is only enough room for so much talent. I my self have been in the Tdot scene for over 12 years breakdancing (bgirl) and I was invited to watch the show not show my own skills. Kinda worked out anyway cus the last time I danced I broke my foot (andy pool hall last Tuesday) so the universe spoke to me in the way I need to slow down. Therealgoldelox I would like to speak more with you, you seem to have the knowledge of Canadian Hip Hop and the passion. Lets talk as I may be able to put that knowledge to use in the near future. At the end of the day we just have to respect that something is happening to support what we do even if it doesn't directly support what we do, it at least gives us a gate that could open to other opportunities if you know what I mean!

email me jivenwilson@gmail.com lets talk more.
