As part of the 2012 NuFunk Festival, in collaboration with Do Right Music, Verve/ Brownswood recording artist Jose James makes his return to Toronto performing at Queen Street West's historic Great Hall.
The Minneapolis-born jazz singer and composer has notably connected traditional jazz vocals with hip hop influenced production and rap references within his lyrics. James' new album No Beginning, No End scheduled for release in September 2012, is an album with his new band - Takuya Kuroda on trumpet, Corey King on trombone, Grant Windsor on keys, Solomon Dorsey on bass, Nate Smith on drums. He has just completed a number of dates featuring the equally talented Taylor McFerrin on the Billboard LIVE tour in Japan.
