REMG Entertainment is proud to present Shad & Hey Ocean, live in concert at the Mod Club Theatre on September 17.



Shad's debut album When This Is Over (2005) was financed with $17,500 he won from 91.5 The Beat's Rhythm of the Future talent competition. The album was well received by critics and Shad received the opportunity to support international artists such as Common and Lupe Fiasco. In 2007, he was signed by Black Box Recordings and released his second album, The Old Prince. His new album found an incredible amount of success and critical acclaim both in Canada and the US. Tastemaker websites such as Okayplayer.com gave the album glowing reviews. He joined Classified on a National tour of Canada and played to sold out venues across the country. The Old Prince received a Juno Award nomination for Rap Recording of the Year, and was nominated to the third annual Polaris Music Prize shortlist.



Hey Ocean is a young band with a remarkable talent for blending various musical styles into a brand of infectious pop that is uniquely their own. Following the release of their first full-length album, Stop Looking Like Music (2006), the band has quickly become one of Western Canada's most popular touring bands. With an impressive online presence and an ever-growing fan base, the foursome has been garnering popular and critical attention at an astonishing rate. Having shared the stage with the likes of Bedouin Soundclash, Xavier Rudd, Sarah Harmer and Wintersleep, their onstage charisma and playful demeanor continue to capture the hearts of listeners – both young and old.
