So Much Things To Say

T-Dot Townhall Meetings

Since Manifesto's inception, engaging with the community and involving peeps in the process of what we do has been a major goal. We've held a number of town hall style meetings
to discuss a number of topics and strategize together on what needs to happen and how we can make it happen. These meetings cover a lot of ground, whether it be about shaping Manifesto's initiatives; the past, present, and future of Toronto's hip hop and more general arts and music communities; the challenges faced by young artists and organizations; what's going on in the city... lots of things to chat about, thus the title.

We've also teamed up with CYAN (Canadian Youth Arts Network) to host some more focused discussions, whose purpose is to bring together the youth arts community under one roof to share and exchange ideas, issues and concerns. The most recent meeting was March 27, 2008, and focused on:

  • Developing a framework for social mapping of arts initiatives in the city.
  • Manifesto & Ignite 2008 - ideas, mandates, and international scope.
  • Strategies for a shared physical sace for community arts and programs.

Check out some shots from the meetings below, as well as a short video piece from the most recent meeting.
