Our friends over at TED will be broadcasting JR's "wish to change the world" on March 2, 2011, during his speech at the TED Conference.

Mark it in your calendars!

The TED Prize 2011 goes to the international street artist JR, whose groundbreaking approach to public art is not only eye-catching, but also world changing. Although technically French, JR's work resides all over the world: on an entire hillside of a Brazilian favelaon the wall separating Israel from the West Bankin the voices of Kenya women.
Here's TED Prize Director Amy Novogratz:

JR’s mind blowing creations have inspired people to see art where they wouldn’t expect it and create it when they didn’t know they could. He’s putting a human face on some of the most critical social issues while redefining how we view, make and display art. JR has moved all of us at the TED Prize. There is no doubt that his talent—paired with the resources of this amazing community—will lead to a wish that changes the world.

The artist will unveil his "wish to change the world" on March 2, 2011, during his speech the TED Conference. Seeing as he's thus far remained anonymous, we should expect that to be a rather creative performance.
