The Royal City Mix

Our friend Patrick Younger is organizing "The Royal City Mix," a hip-hop festival out in Guelph, Ontario. Brought to you by the RCR Youth Collective, this event celebrates youth that have been or want to be involved and engaged with hip hop culture in Guelph. With freestyle cyphers, breakdance cyphers, spoken word, live graffiti and many featured artists, it's sure to bring people together to an area that may not see much hip-hop culture compared to the GTA.

DATE: Friday, August 19th, 2011

TIME: 12:30 - 5:50 PM

LOCATION: Riverside Park Concert Hall, Woolwich Street, Guelph

Big ups to Patrick!

  1. The event went well! I will have a bunch of pictures up on a post soon!
The performances, the venue, the graffiti, the breaking, the DJ's everything turned out perfectly!
We ended up using three different DJ;s throughout the event too! Elaquet on his SP 404, other one had his CD tables, then DJ envios, and DJ Sessions had the real tables!
went through 11 performances, including a female MC and a female singer! with plenty of freestyling, and even additional acts!

The audience... about 100 people in and out throughout the day, children, elderly, middle aged, and youth especially.. there was the kids dancing and interacting with the show, it reminded me a little bit of Manifesto! It just really blew my mind how we achieved such an incredibly dynamic crowd!
It was a big landmark for Guelph Hip Hop and connected a lot of talented, important people!
