Women In Hip Hop: Why Female Voices Go Unheard

Women have always contributed to the rise and the development of hip hop, however, their voices have often been drowned out by their male counterparts. It is a male dominated industry with too many male voices perpetuating negative stereotypes often to the detriment of women having viable careers in the industry. We will explore some of the contributions of women and what needs to be done to improve the current state of affairs.
