We.Will.Now [Community]

Have you ever thought of just packing your bags one day and going to a far off land and somehow finding a job and being able to sustain yourself there!? I HAVE!! Because I've done it! Let me tell you, teaching English abroad is an amazing opportunity to travel, see the world, experience the people, land and food of other cultures, meet amazing people who are from other English speaking countries and improve the skills of people who are in-turn teaching you about their culture/language as well. In short, an absolutely, life changing experience. So, on that note, let me introduce you to WE.WILL.NOW Youth International Development Projects - a fantastic, non-profit community organization based in Toronto.

"We.Will.Now is a non-profit organization focused on supporting and encouraging youth residents of low income communities to become more socially and civically engaged in international affairs. Their objective is to provide quality learning opportunities both locally and abroad that strengthen communities, strengthen individuals, and strengthen communication and relations amongst diverse groups. We.Will.Now envisions a cross-cultural connection between low income communities of Toronto, and those of the developing world. A connection built on shared experiences, and resources, and linked through social interaction, community engagement and education."

Check the jump for info on how to get TESOL certified!

The We.Will.Now TESOL Project is a 6 month training program for people aged 18-29 to acquire their TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Certificate. Good communication is a powerful tool, no matter which language it is (i.e. body language, English, computer programming, etc.). Seeing as English is still the International Language of the world, (with political forecasts of Mandarin being the next international language), English learning is in high-demand, especially over in Asia. Registration is open from now until October 14th, 2011.

We.Will.Now also has an annual International Thought Film Festival, African-Canadian Youth Exchanges, an Engaging Diverse Communities Project and they have made trips to various schools in Northern Ghana. CURRENTLY, they are doing a Back2School drive for a school they support in Ghana where they will deliver school supplies in September. For more information, or if you'd like to donate school supplies please email them at: info@wewillnow.ca or call them at: 416-946-1061.

And please check their website as they have videos, photos and event information about their work.
